Who we are

Onika Crossman (she/her), Owner

Onika@marmaladesalon.com

Hello! I’m Onika and I am the owner of Marmalade Salon. I have been doing hair for 30 years, never losing my passion to make people look and feel their best.

My love of fashion & all hairdressing came in my teens when I was a hair model for a platform color artist. I was so inspired by the creative energy backstage at hair shows and decided to do hair full time! I get a lot of fulfillment in my work from meeting and talking with people from all walks of life and I truly feel that everyone deserves to feel beautiful and cared for.

In my spare time I like to spend time in nature with my two doggies, seeing live music & theater, trying new restaurants, going to vintage markets, record shopping & cuddling up with a good novel.

Tiff believes in the powerful transformative effects of a good haircut. They consider themselves specialized in creating unique shapes worn best in their natural state.

Tiff got their start in hairdressing as an apprentice at Edo Salon under the mentorship of Jayne Matthews where they built strong foundation in straight razor haircutting. They have since sought education from around the globe to become versed in many tools with the intention of being able to best serve all hair textures.

Tiff’s personal style evolved over the years as a nightlife performer and organizer in San Francisco’s queer underground club scene. Although they live a much more peaceful life outside of the salon these days, they remain an aesthetic shapeshifter and draw inspiration from many different subcultures, eras, and forms found in nature.

Outside of hairdressing, Tiff attempts to stay grounded with gardening and a consistent yoga practice. They are the guardian of two majestic, geriatric chihuahuas—Bruce Wayne and Kewpie!
